Screenplay v.4.0 is Finished!

April 28th, 2012

I have expended quite a bit of effort turning my novel Luminaries into a screenplay. I tried to make the tone a little darker, make the characters a little more snarky than they previously were. I’m actually really quite happy with how it turned out. Now to get some feedback and hopefully sell it!

New awesome cover!!!

March 15th, 2012

I hired acclaimed Mexican artist Rodolfo Reyes to create a new cover for ‘Luminaries’ http://www.amazon.com/Luminaries-ebook/dp/B0055OI2PQ/ and it turned out amazing!!! Sales have improved dramatically since I added the new cover to both the kindle and paperback versions. ‘Luminaries’ has also caught the eye of one of the most beloved Goodreads reviewers: Lady Danielle “The Book Huntress”. I’m excited to find out what she thinks about it.

Making progress

February 10th, 2012

I’m 25 pages into the sequel, and 23 pages into the screenplay. I was 25 pages into the screenplay, but I ripped two pages completely out because they were too lighthearted, and didn’t match the tone of the rest of the screenplay. I’ve found it’s just important to know what to keep as to know what to throw out. It was tough, because I found those two pages interesting and engaging. But ultimately it made the screenplay weaker. Hopefully I’ll be able to piece together something that’s truly worthy of the silver screen.

I’m in sunny Florida!

January 30th, 2012

I took a week off work to head to Florida and see the sites. I’m in love with the weather: it is absolutely gorgeous here, I wish I could marry it and take it home with me!

Going to spend some of the time working on the sequel to Luminaries, titled Luminaries: Black Dragon.

An article about Luminaries made its way onto the OmniMysteryNews.com website!  I can’t thank the people there enough for sharing the article with their readers.  You can check it out here:

New book cover!

November 29th, 2011

I created a new book cover for Luminaries, and I think it looks pretty frickin’ cool!  Seems to be getting a little more attention now.  Hopefully it’ll help with sales.  Also, both the Kindle and Paperback versions are finally merged, so that’s particularly awesome.

I finally started in on book #2!  It looks like it’ll be a long process, but a good one.  Hopefully it takes me a lot less time this go-round.  So far I think it’s started out well.  Time will tell if it’s a winner or not.

My first five-star review

November 18th, 2011

A very nice woman from California wrote me a glowing review of ‘Luminaries’ on Amazon and GoodReads, and sent me an email inquiring about when she can expect other books to come out.  I unfortunately have no ETA on the sequel, but I’m nearly finished with the outline.  I’m hoping this weekend to actually start writing.  The hardest thing for me is inertia.  It takes quite a bit to get me going, but thankfully once I do, I just keep working at it.  I’m actually really excited, as I think the second book may be better than the first.  I’ve learned a lot in the process of writing it, and I believe I’ve found the perfect editor for it.  It should help me greatly.  Now if I could just find an audience….

A Blog Slacker is Me

October 3rd, 2011

So I haven’t written in a few weeks.  But in the last few days I’ve sold a number of copies of the book.  Not exactly sure how though, I’m scouring the net for possible reasons.   Was it you?  Were you the one who bought them?  I must know!!!

My running’s been going well to a point.  Stalled at the 17 minute mark.  Hovering right around it.  Hoping tomorrow I make a significant dent in it.  Won’t hold breath.  Mostly because it’s much harder to run while holding my breath.

Georges Jeanty

September 17th, 2011

Went to a comic book signing Wednesday night for the unveiling of the Buffy season 9.  It was pretty awesome: free food, free drinks, autographs…  Georges was a pretty amazing guy.  Down to earth, had good responses to questions, seemed like a decent person.  Had a lot of fun!  It’s kind of cool getting to meet the person responsible for the art in five years worth of comic books I’ve read.  I hope if I ever get a modicum of fame that I stay the same person I am.  NOT!!!  I hope it totally changes me into a superficial jerk that people hate.  Heck, maybe I should start doing that now!  Maybe I’m already doing it!  Mwhahaha, my evil plan is forming….

When I started this blog…

September 12th, 2011

I’d intended it to be all about my writing.  It’s starting to turn into my fitness diary.  What the who???

My last two-miler was 17 min 24 seconds which I’m pretty happy with.  Hoping tomorrow morning brings me more joy and a better time.  Been trying to push myself.

As for writing, my outline’s been coming along pretty well.  Got about half way done with it.  Day job and life have been taking up a significant amount of time, which has kept me from spending it on writing.  I think I’m going to have to dig in and really get started.  Once I get going I’m sure I’ll stick with it.  It’s always starting that’s the hardest.
